Homeschool Support Groups in Greater Houston

Support groups and communities are the informal backbone of Houston homeschooling: park days, mom nights, prayer groups, and online communities where families ask questions, share encouragement, and find their people, without the academic structure of a co-op. For a lot of Houston families, especially in the first year, this is where the real support happens.

These groups tend to be low-commitment by design, which is exactly their value: you can show up to a park day without registering for a semester, ask a question in a Facebook group at ten at night, or find a prayer group that meets around a schedule that actually fits your family's week. Many Houston parents belong to more than one, since a large citywide group and a smaller neighborhood one serve genuinely different needs.

These groups are separate from academic co-ops, so don't expect a class schedule here, and don't expect TEFA to apply, since these groups generally aren't set up to sell anything at all. That's fine. Not everything in homeschooling needs to run through a funding program.
